Strengths & Objectives

We aim to develop resourceful, responsible, resilient, loyal leaders and team players through fun and challenging military related activities.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC Sea) is a platform for cadets to bond, learn and participate in numerous activities, which stretch them both mentally and physically. We often organise fun activities such as, kayaking and dragon boating, that provide our cadets with various learning opportunities and at the same time highlight how enjoyable the NCC experience is. In order to facilitate cultural immersion, we offer opportunities for cadets to go on overseas trips such as the Mt. Ophir expedition. Cadets are also assessed in their sea-craft skills via the Sea Proficiency Tests, Bends and Hitches Competitions, the Annual Sea Competition and the Annual Kayaking Expedition (AKE).

Notable events & Achievements

Our Unit attained the Best Unit Competition Gold Award for 2015. Our yearly events facilitate character development and give cadets the opportunity to showcase their talent and leadership skills within the rules and regulations of the regiment. Our programme gives cadets the chance to embark on new skills and have fun at the same time. This gratifying experience is further exemplified in the Annual Sea competition in which NCC (SEA) swept all the individual gold awards for the Girls Bends and Hitches as well as emerging overall Girls Bends and Hitches Champion 2016. We also competed in the inaugural National Canoe Slalom Championship where our cadets did well to beat out established schools and were able to garner 10 medals. A record 17 Cadet Leaders successfully completed the arduous 36km Mini Kayaking Expedition (MKE) with 6 going on to complete the Annual Kayaking Expedition (AKE). The expeditions saw many cadets step out of their comfort zone and braving the rough challenge to help one another.

As a uniform group, NCC brings cadets together, reinforces the importance of teamwork and forges everlasting friendships between the members.
