We are delighted to have your child/ward and you join our BBSS family.
This marks the beginning of an exciting journey filled with growth, learning,
and memorable experiences for your child/ward.
Important Information
Please see below for more information about our school and Sec 1 programmes. Kindly also refer to the letter which will be shared via Parents Gateway (PG) for more details.
Information regarding offers to study selected subjects at a More Demanding Level/ Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL)/ Malay Special Programme (MSP)/ Chinese Special Programme (CSP) will be shared via PG about 1 - 2 working days after the release of the posting results. You are strongly encouraged to purchase uniforms and books only after accepting the offers on PG.
The first day of School will be on Friday, 2 January 2026.
First Day of School / Ready-for-School Programme
A Ready-for-School Programme will be conducted for all students on the first 2 days of school. This school-wide programme involves activities to ensure that our BBSSians start the school year on the right footing.

Sec 1 Orientation Programme
This programme is planned and executed by BBSS Student Leaders, allowing your child/ward to know BBSS better through personal experiences shared by their seniors.

Sec 1 Parents’ Engagement
To conclude the first week of school, our principal, Mrs Shirley Lee, together with some Key Personnel and the Form Teachers, will engage Secondary 1 parents on school programmes and expectations.

Time: 6.00pm to 7.30pm

CCA Experience and Trials
The CCA Experience and Trials serve to offer the Secondary 1 students a platform to get to know the various CCAs in BBSS, discover their strengths and have some hands-on experience. After these trial sessions, your child/ward will also be strongly encouraged to find out more about the CCAs of his/her interest during Week 3 through observing the CCAs’ training sessions.
The CCA Experience and Trials will take place on 12 Jan & 14 Jan from 2.30pm-6.00pm.
The students will be guided by CCA student leaders during the sessions. Do remind your child/ward to have a proper lunch in the school canteen before attending the CCA trials.
Seek, Discover and Learn (SDL) Day
The school has set aside time for students engage in self-directed learning from home. Students do not need to report to school; instead, they are to log into online platforms such as the Student Learning Space (SLS) to complete their assignments and to use the time to pursue their own interests and learn beyond the curriculum.
The Secondary 1 students will receive their Personal Learning Devices (PLD) later in the school term. More details on the purchase of the PLD will be shared via PG at a later date. In the meantime, the school is able to loan out devices for students who need one for their learning at home.
Sec 1 PLD Orientation Session 1
Prior to receiving the PLD, all Secondary 1 students will be guided on using technology appropriately and safely, while developing basic digital competencies such as accessing the SLS and organising digital learning resources. This will help build their confidence and prepare them for learning in a digital environment.
The first session of the PLD Orientation will take place on:
- 13 Jan (Tue) 2.30pm to 3.45pm
(for 1A1, 1A2 and 1A3 students)
- 15 Jan (Thu) 2.30pm to 3.45pm
(for 1A4, 1A5, 1A6 and 1A7 students)
The session will be conducted in the school computer labs after school. Please remind your child/ward to have a proper lunch in the school canteen before attending the session.
Multi-Level Activities (MLA)
The Sec 1 students will be attending a 4D3N camp from 26 to 29 January 2026 where they will be able to build relationships and class spirit, develop leadership skills and outdoor safety awareness and adventure skills. More details will be shared with you at a later date. Please provide details of your child/ward's medical conditions and dietary restrictions (if any) via PG to facilitate our planning.
Financial Assistance Scheme
You can apply through the e-FAS portal (https://go.gov.sg/moe-efas) or on Parents Gateway (under Services > Financial Assistance) using Singpass.
Meal subsidies for eligible FAS students are administered through the POSB Smart Buddy and it can be utilised using the student’s Smart Card at the school canteen during the school term.
Purchase of Textbooks and Uniforms
You can refer to the Sec 1 booklist here.
There are two options available for your purchase – either directly from the school bookshop or online.
You are strongly advised to purchase your child/ward’s textbooks after you have accepted the offer/s for more demanding subject levels/ HMTL/ MSP/ CSP through PG.

Parents’ Support Group
BBSS is proud to have a dedicated Parents’ Support Group (PSG) that plays an active role in supporting the holistic development of our students. The PSG serves as a valuable platform for parents to partner with the school, fostering a supportive and engaged school community.
The objectives of the BBSS PSG are as follows:
· To actively involve parents
in their children’s secondary school journey
· To support the holistic development
of students in BBSS
· To build rapport among parents
and provide mutual support through meaningful educational and social activities

We review every application carefully, taking a holistic view in determining suitability for admission, considering academic results, passion/interests, reason for transfer, etc. As the application is subject to available vacancies, please note that admission is not guaranteed.
